Autumn bouquet with hydrangea and clematis
🍁 A hydrangea that changed colour over the summer
At the centre sits a large hydrangea in a shade you cannot order — rust, green in places, pink in others. A hydrangea turns this colour on its own, once the nights grow cold. Around it are packed deep burgundy santini chrysanthemums and red hypericum berries.
💜 Lilac clematis as the surprise
The pale violet flowers of clematis appear unexpectedly among the burgundy and the rust — and that contradiction is what turns an ordinary autumn arrangement into something worth a second look.
🌾 Fillers that are not filler
White spikes of veronica lead the eye upward, powdery limonium blurs the outline, and eucalyptus holds everything together with its grey-green.

🌿 How to keep it fresh
Trim the stems at an angle with a sharp knife under running water, place them in a clean vase of cold water and change the water every two days. Keep the bouquet out of direct sun, away from radiators and away from a bowl of fruit.
